An Edwardian cream painted wooden washstand with a slate top and backsplash that has been superbly painted when new to look like red marble/granite. Wear around the edges now reveals the secret because just looking at it you would never know! The lozenge shape on the backsplash looks like a different stone but again its painted. The base houses a cupboard accessed from a single door to the front and it is raised on slender tapering legs terminating in brass casters. There is a metal towel rail to the righthand side. The stand has been painted in more recent times with cream paint giving it a look more popular for a contemporary home.
