This English pewter tankard would have been given as a 'coming of age' present to a young man on his 21st birthday, and this one is engraved with the initials 'F.C.F. 1967' showing that the recipient was born just after WWII in 1946. It was a common practice that arose from the once popular use of pewter tankards for drinking ale. Today it makes a great storage container for pens or as a flower vase.
